LEARN FROM JOB'S EXAMPLE

WE SHOULD LEARN FROM JOB

We want to live forever, won’t we? It is our instinct to find cure to our sickness, and do not welcome the effects of old age-wrinkled skin, poor eyesight, loss of hearing, and unsteady legs. For instance a friend of mine a young man, a professional, has a steady job, have a dream to become a successful professor or director someday  got sick, not a simple sickness but a malignant tumor into his most delicate part of his body his brain. He had no vices as far as I know and a clean life is his concerned, so these leads to question its integrity toward the government, environment, himself and sadly toward our Creator. How can a young man like him, having a clean living and have faith toward God acquire a sickness that can lead to severe suffering financially, physically and spiritually. Financially drain because he is just new in his job and his earnings in giving a hundred thousand pesos every session for chemotherapy or radiotherapy is quite exhausting he needs the support of other institution to supplement the medical session. It is also physically exhausting since his body is becoming weak, his eyes are affected, becoming dry and his speech is mumbling. However, his faith toward God is the only strength that he had, his speech in every occasion is catered toward our Creator, so other may wonder why Him why not them. From his experience leads me to think and remember the experience of Job during the bible times.
Job, a loyal man whom Jehovah loved, he also have a good life as a family man. However his integrity is also being questioned because of the keen instigator against our Creator no other than Satan the Devil. Satan questioned Job’s integrity, saying that he served God only for selfish reasons. God, with confidence in Job and knowing His own power to undo harm, allowed Satan to test Job. Satan then “struck Job with a malignant boil from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.” Job’s flesh became covered with maggots, and his skin formed crusts, blackened, and dropped off. Can you imagine his agony? Yet, Job remained faithful, saying: “Until Iexpire I shall not take away my integrity from myself!”—Job 27:5. Job, however, did make a serious mistake l. As he seemingly inched closer to death, he became overly concerned with vindicating himself, “declaring his own soul righteous rather than God.” God’s spokesman Elihu reproved Job. But Elihu also conveyed to Job a positive message from God: “Let him [Job] off from going down into the pit [the common grave]! I have found a ransom! Let his flesh become fresher than in youth; let him return to the days of his youthful vigor.” (Job 33:24, 25) Those words must have filled Job with hope. He did not have to continue suffering right down to his death. If Job would repent, God would be pleased to accept a ransom in his behalf and set him free from his calamities. Job humbly accepted correction, and he repented. Jehovah evidently accepted a ransom in Job’s behalf, allowing it to cover his error and open the way for God to restore and reward him. Jehovah “blessed the end of Job afterward more than his beginning.” Imagine Job’s relief when, among other blessings, his loathsome disease cleared up and his flesh, in effect, became “fresher than in youth”!
Job’s experience is also related to my friend and to me as well. As we experience tragedy and persecution even though we say that our Faith would not be withered, and sometimes our grip toward him loosen but hopefully would not break. We have a greater and wonderful future ahead Job acceptance have a limited value, for the man remained imperfect and later died. We have a much better ransom available to us. God lovingly gave his Son, Jesus, as a ransom for us. All who put faith in that ransom have the prospect of living forever on a paradise earth. In that coming new world, God will release faithful humans from the aging process, sickness. ALL WE NEED IS TO TRUST HIM WHATEVER HAPPENS
