HAVING AN OBEDIENT HEART, IS IT POSSIBLE?
Do you know how your heart works; an amazing organ
that can pump blood without let up? The heart is an industrious part of our
body that would always make us happy. But aside from our physical heart we have
also our figurative heart, a heart that describes our relationship to our
Creator.
When we meet someone, we can assume that she is a
kind person or a good person however as human we cannot read each other’s heart
thoroughly it is intrinsic in any individual. Only God can read the condition
of our heart as what 1 Samuel 16:7 says. His eyes are roving about through all
the earth, to show his strength in behalf of those whose heart is complete
toward him (2 Chron. 16:9). And having a
complete heart we need to have an obedient heart a heart that can discern
between good and bad (1Kings 3:9) a heart that listen, a heart that is adhering
to the voice of our Heavenly Father.
Whatever the condition of our heart we need to ask Jah for a complete
heart. As what King Manasseh did, even
he made some grievous mistakes he soften the face of our beloved Creator.
Acquiring an obedient heart might not be possible
but God is showing the way to occupy His heart. How? From the talk I heard
gives some points to ponder on how to acquire the heart or our Happy God. And he elaborates some steps to follow:
1.
First 1 Thessalonians 5:17 suggest that we
should pray constantly it is the only communication to our beloved Father.
2.
Hebrews 4:12 we should Read the Bible
not only regularly but daily, since the word of God is alive and exerts power
the Bible can penetrate, and discern thought and intention of the heart enable
for an erring one to repent and improve.
The best time to read any literature is when
the Heart is alert and when you are alone.
3.
The third criteria is to listen to the discipline,
accept correction and reproof, this is God’s loving provision to have a clean standing
towards Him Proverbs 15:32.
4.
Forth way is to have a closed
association to our fellow believers as what 2 Kings 10:15-16 says”is your heart
is fully with me, just as my heart is with your heart”. James 5:14-16 says that we should accept the
help of the older ones, our mature Christian brothers who are willing to give
extra time and effort to help us to regain our healthy figurative heart.
...... Love
your heart and strive to have an obedient heart since you have only one.....
